Every financing conversation has an information problem. The lender has underwritten a thousand files and knows exactly how yours will be read. You've seen one file — your own — and you're seeing it the way an owner sees it, not the way a credit team does. That gap costs business owners real money: wrong products, wasted applications, terms accepted because nobody explained what was negotiable.
Fundamently exists to close that gap. We publish, in plain English, how underwriters actually evaluate middle-market businesses — the eligibility tests, the haircuts, the coverage ratios, the questions asked in credit committee after you leave the room. No lead-capture walls in front of the education, no pretending every answer is yes.
What we do
The Assessment — a free, underwriter-style read on your financing profile. It runs entirely in your browser: no signup, no credit pull, and your numbers never leave your device. That's deliberate — you should be able to see how you look to a lender before you talk to one.
Document Review — a human-written, educational read of your actual financials: how the file presents, what flags a credit team would raise, and which financing paths are realistic.
The Knowledge Hub — guides, glossaries, and monthly macro analysis written in the voice of the honest credit analyst: what owners expect, what the market actually does, and why.
For advisors — investment bankers, brokers, CPAs, and attorneys use us when a client deal needs fast short-term or bridge capital, particularly in acquisitions, where deals are won on speed.
How we make money
Transparently. Funding partners may pay us referral fees when an introduction we make closes, and we offer paid consulting for owners who want hands-on help improving their credit profile. The education and the assessment are free and stay free, and compensation never shapes what we publish — a referral fee isn't worth more than being the site that told you the truth.
What we are not
We are not a lender, a broker-dealer, a registered investment adviser, an accountant, or a law firm. Nothing here is financial, legal, or tax advice, and no result on this site is an offer of credit. We're the explanation you wish someone had given you before the term sheet arrived. Full details in our disclosures.
